Matthew Porter is a New York actor with a warm, easy presence and a dry comedic wit. He's the guy you'd trust to explain something, who then gets a laugh while he's doing it.
He's spent most of his career in comedy. On screen, he had a recurring role on NBC's Emmy-winning 30 Rock, was cast in Chappelle's Show, and was a sketch player on CBS's The NFL Today. His film credits include Drunk Parents and The Santa Con, and his work as host and spokesperson for DISH won him a Silver Telly Award. On stage, he has performed at Lincoln Center under Sir Jonathan Miller, and The New York Times called him "most engaging."
When he's not in front of the camera, you'll find him in his professional studio recording voiceover. He's the current voice of Hasbro's Mr. Potato Head and voices the lead in Contraband Police: Crimson Fall, the upcoming expansion to the hit game that has sold more than a million copies. His voice has also been heard in a national campaign for Chewy, in Supercell's Brawl Stars x SpongeBob spots and in Marvel SNAP. He also voiced the lead in Cartoon Network's Sunday Pants.
Matthew holds an Honors Drama BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He has taught acting to young performers with the Peacock Players and has been an assistant director at the Stella Adler Conservatory in Manhattan. SAG-AFTRA / AEA.
